These Christmas trees were made of used plastic bottles and I was surprised to seem them still in place on the Place du Palais Royal yesterday. In fact I thought I was lucky because I did not have the chance to take a picture before so here is a Holiday season last picture.
Better late than never -:) Actually it is kind of fun seeing these out of the holiday season context.
ReplyDeleteit's great that people have greater interest in recycling...i think this was the purpose of these "ornaments"
ReplyDeleteSo tell me Laurent, how on earth did I pass through the Palais Royal each and every day on the way to and from our flat and not see these??? Only in Paris could you find something like made from "junk" and it look just terrific! HA Can you hear me humming a few more bars of "I Love Paris"?? :)

Now, that's what I call 're-cycling'.

Well Laurent, I quizzed my friend Mary and asked why she didn't stop me and make me take a photo here. Her reply was that we had our minds on a coupe de champagne. Well that explains everything!!!!!

Fred : c'est de la pub gratuite tout ça !
ReplyDeleteUnusual to see Christmas decorations this late, but maybe they're trying to promote the idea of recycling longer. Bravo to the city for using these in the first place!
ReplyDeleteGo GREEN! A clever and artsy use of the used plastic bottles!
ReplyDeleteNow I see what you mean, what a coincidence! :-)
