A different Paris

Paris is not only the one most tourist just see, the monuments, the beautiful buildings, fancy restaurants ... It's also a city where people with low income live and where little houses like this one can still be found especially in the 18th, 19th and 20th arrondissement where I live.

  1. Thanks for this insightful post. It's true, the city of light and beauty is not perfect for everyone..

  3. Great reminder of the real life for many in our large cities... nicely framed and personal photo. For this man and his neighbor, there is pride in maintaining the plants and tending to the daily routines.

  7. Yes, Paris is not all the wonderful delights. It's good to remember that there are so many people that live in the other areas of Paris. Thank you Laurent for this very interesting photograph of life as it is. I love seeing this man tending his little garden, with the clothes drying on the railing.

  8. I like it too. Laundry done, plants watered...bet there is even a pot of soup going in the kitchen!

  9. The older tile roofs are pretty incredible. Wow.

I know what you mean about the different city. There is the image that everyone knows and loves, then the reality behind the image. Living in cities has such highs and lows.
