Galette des Rois

This is a French tradition each January : la Galette des Rois. Absolutely a bag time for the diet but "que diable" !!! Inside the cake there is a little figurine and the one who got it becomes the king or queen (see crowns on the galettes).
If you want to know more about this tradition : see Wikipedia short and good description.

  1. This is a great shot! I love seeing the beautiful cuisine and bakeries of France/Paris. My sister had a mini galette de rois in 2009 when we visited Paris. It looked beautiful too.

  4. We will have several Galettes des Rois during the Mardi Gras "season." I don't care about the crown, I just want to win the fève (and eat a slice)!
