To end with the "Promenade Plantée" serie, here is what the top of the Viaduc looks like. The 1 km walk uppon the Viaduc is filled with plants, trees and flowers. Then you can walk down the brigde I posted a picture of the day before yesterday, and go on for 3.5 km more of pedestrian walk leading you to the Bois de Vincennes (forest).
I am tempted by this, to walk and investigate. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat series. A new area of Paris for me. Is it pretty populated with people on the weekends? In other words, is it a safe area?
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea to reuse this railway viaduct this way. Did you make the walk to the Bois de Vincennes?
ReplyDeleteI live this viaduc. It featured in the Julie Delpy movie Before Sunset, and my eyes were looking all around.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven’t been around much lately – life’s busy!
To Harriet : Yes it is a safe area whith actually a lot of people on week-ends so if you can it's better on weekdays.
ReplyDeleteTo Jill : I never walk to the Bois on the Promenade but only ride from part where the bridge is to the Bois. The Bois de Vincennes is also a great part of Paris. I'll post some pictures one day.
I just can't believe this. No, it must be somewhere in big garden, not on a bridge. Cheers
