Nice entrance

Nice building entrance of an old railway company that merged into the only national railway company we have in France called "SNCF".

Showtime !

That building called "Le Casino de Paris" has nothing to do with a casino. It's a famous Paris theater where yesterday evening I had the great pleasure to see the French version of the musical "Hairspray" that just opened this week.

Velib's boat

"Velib" is Paris' free bike system (see here) and they have their own boat on the Seine river where they can repair bikes and also transfer them from one point to another along the river. Of course this is only an additional way of doing that as they mostly use trucks to go from one bike station to another inside the town. In that case their trucks are using electric power. Looking up

Looking up when you're on the Place du Chatelet (Chatelet square) you can see this : the square's column and in the background the head of the Tour Saint Jacques.

Lundi de Pâques

The next Monday after Easter is called "Lundi de Pâques" in French ("Easter Monday ... which I put yesterday by error and so now Virginia you've got the answer !). It is a holiday in France so most of the people just got a 3 days weekend here. As we still have that incredible summer weather, this is the view you will have along cafés in the city.

My friend Elton

Elton is a friend's dog. A real Parisian dog who loves water as you can see ... Theses days the weather is so warm (27 degrees !!!) that he's even happier to jump in the Bois de Boulogne's lakes.

Café talk

We keep on with "café" theme today and go outside as the weather in Paris is still like summer. These guys seem to have a vibrant talk while the lady in the far left background is thrilled by her reading ... isn't that also Paris ?

Back home

I am finally back home after a great break on a tropical island (see my travel blog). Paris is still as sunny and warm as it was when I left. It's that a welcoming city ! I 'm glad my blog friend Genie had that nice weather for her Parisian stay and too bad I miss her that time. As you can see the trees are splendid on this avenue in the 12th arrondissement.

Spring break

Some of you may wonder why I leave Paris while we're having a splendid weather but you know, I live and work here so for my holidays I need to be elsewhere and relax. See you in a while and enjoy my previous photos when I'm away. See you !

Summer in Spring

Yesterday was like a summer day in Paris. Warm temperatures, blue sky ... a delightful day. The people enjoy the nature here in the Bois de Vincennes, one of the 2 Paris big wild parks.

Le musée de la poupée

Honestly I've never been inside the Doll (poupée) museum but I like its outside. As you can see it's a calm paved yard and the most surprising is that it's only 50 meters away from the noisy rue Beaubourg. If you want to have a look at their website : Le musée de la poupée

A window with a view

Today we're still inside the Cité de l'Architecture on the Trocadero. As I was telling you yesterday this museum is ideally located and here is one of the best view that you can get from the top floor of the building.

Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine

In addition to the fact that this museum is ideally located on the Trocadero right in front of the Eiffel Tower, it is also a great place to visit where you can see a lot of French architecture. A must see in Paris.

I love Paris in the springtime ...

Today I invite you to join me for a walk on the Seine river banks as we have the most perfect spring weather forecast. Sky is blue, temperatures are warm and the nature is splendid. This confirms that April is one of the best period to visit Paris and one of my favorite. 

Theme day : edges

On the edges of Paris you can find many fabulous places to visit like here the Versailles castle only 15 kilometers away from Paris. I thought this sunset on the Castle would make a nice theme day picture and furthermore I was born in Versailles which is not only a Castle but also a suburban city.
