Nice weather is back today so it's time to enjoy the Tuileries garden isn't it ?

Queuing for André Kertész

Yesterday I went to see the André Kertész retrospective exhibition at the Jeu de Paume in the Tuileries garden (this is the beautiful building you see on the picture). I honestly did not know much about this photographer's work and I have been completely under the charm of his pictures especially the Paris and New York ones since these are my two cities I love. If you like photography and happen to be in Paris before February 6th I highly recommend this exhibition. And while waiting you just have to turn around and here is what you can see : ... well the City Daily Picture request only one picture a day so you will have to wait not even for tomorrow since it will be theme day but wait until Wednesday to see what the view from the Jeu de Paume is like ...

On continue la balade

As the blue sky is on, let's continue walking and leave yesterday's Place de la Concorde to the Tuileries garden where these seats long to welcome people. Why is that ?

Art in the garden

Once again a view from the Tuileries garden which I really like. The trees don't have leaves anymore but the sun is there these days and I wanted to share this view with you.

Through a Louvre window

This view is taken from a window in a room of the Louvre Museum. You can see the Tuileries gardens turning red and in the background the Arc of Triomphe and "La Defense" business quarter.
This "La Defense" quarter is the object of a big controversy in France at the moment since young 23 years old French President' son is going to be elected at the head of the Adgency that manages this district. See NYC Times for more details.

Arc de Triomphe du Caroussel

This is the top of the Arc de Triomphe du Caroussel located in the Tuileries garden in front of the Louvre Museum. You can see it on one of my old post.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is at the easternmost end of the so-called "Axe historique" ("grand historic axis") of Paris, a nine-kilometre-long linear route which dominates central and western Paris. Looking west, the arch is perfectly aligned with the obelisk in the Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe and (although it is not directly visible from the Place du Carrousel) the Grande Arche de la Defense.

Thoughts

I pictured this statue at the Tuileries garden by sunset. I thought it tells the feeling I had yesterday when learning about the Air France flight crash. I work for this airline and my thoughts go to my colleagues and passengers who were on board . Sad days.

Cold

Cold is back today in Paris. Hot red wine in the Tuileries could warm us ... but seeing the price I leave it to rich tourists !

Tuileries again

Still in the "Tuileries garden" where you can find lots of these chairs to enjoy the place (great in spring when the first sunny hot days come). 

In the background you can see the "Louxor Obelisque" of the "Concorde square" and the "Arc of Triomphe" far behind. The "Champs Elysées" avenue is located between these two monuments.

Paris by the sea ?

Seagulls resting on the grass of the "Tuileries garden" near the Louvre museum. Looks like the prefer Paris to the sea.
