Paris' wishes for 2011

It's not too late for wishes so I wanted to show you what the City Major and his council created this year. This poster is displayed all over Paris showing the City Hall with the lights of the "Nuit Blanche" event and the text is very good : " Nice year 2011, in a capital city where differences meet and respect, a city who loves life."

On sale

The guy is not on sale (I guess) but he was preparing the H&M window for the Winter Sales season which started yesterday in Paris. Let's go shopping !

Rainy Champs Elysées

I was on the Champs Elysées yesterday night and while waiting for my friend under the rain I took this picture (among others...) that I wanted to share with you today.  I do not like the rain but I must admit it gives nice pictures sometimes especially at night.

The lights on the Champs Elysées are soon going to be taken off and I realize that I did not show it this year so here it is with that brave guy riding on this very busy avenue.

Let's continue with Christmas trees in Paris. This year we have a blue Christmas tree in front of Notre Dame Cathedral. It's gorgeous at night.

Paris is putting on its Christmas lights. Yesterday night I discovered the BHV's (one of Paris Big Department Store) near the City Hall and I must say I like it a lot.

Blog to blog

Looking at the very nice Genie's blog called "Paris and Beyond" I realized that this weekend I took nearly the same picture that the one she posted last Thursday but at night. So here's a variation of the place and a "blog to blog" talk like we sometimes also do with Virginia's Paris Through my Lens. 

She's back !

The giant wheel on the Place de la Concorde is back for the holiday period and so is the Christmas market on the Champs Elysées. I saw the wheel yesterday night for the first time this year and wanted to share it with with this picture mixing the Concorde Obelisk and the wheel. I will certainly have the opportunity to show you more since it's only the beginning of the period. Have a great Sunday (which will be a rain day in Paris) !

It's always a good day to watch the Tower from the Trocadero, even when it's rainy and cold ... gives nice reflexion.

Grape harvest fair in Montmatre

This weekend is Montmartre Grape Harvest Fair and since last year (see link) I posted pictures of the parade today I decided to show you a shot of yesterday night fabulous fireworks on the Sacré Coeur church. The weather was just perfect all day with warm temperature and a great blue sky which gave us the most perfect night for the fireworks. I posted a video of the Fireworks final on you tube so you can have more than the picture (click here to watch the video).

The "Centre Pompidou" also called "Beaubourg" at night where you find the Museum of Contemporary arts.

Nuit Blanche

This was one of yesterday night "Nuit Blanche" event. The artist created lighted sentences that all said the same thing is many different languages : "love the differences". It was on the Paris City Hall and there were many many other shows in th city related to Contemporary Art which is the theme of the "Nuit Blanche" event.
