Beautiful tree and wise decision.
Beautiful photo. This looks like a Magnolia soulangia or saucer magnolia. If that's what it is, did you know: it originated by chance in 1820, as an accidental seedling in a French garden.
The person who described this hybrid gave it its specific scientific name, 'soulangiana', in honor of the nurseryman, Étienne Soulange-Bodin, in whose garden the tree was found.
Are you going to relent and give us the address of yesterday's post???? It inspired me to make a quiche for lunch today, which was delicious.....but I'd rather be dining in Paris.....
