Waiting for the train at the Gare de l'Est

This last weekend I took the TGV (fast train) to go near Strasbourg in the Alsace region, east of France on the German border. The Alsace region is very well know in France for its Christmas markets.
Here is a view af the great hall of the Gare de l'Est (east railway station).

I can feel the "energy" of this place with everyone talking and sipping cafe au lait at these tables.

I have yet to take the TGV to Strasbourg (took the slow train in 1999). Does it arrive in the center of town at the "old" train station or is there a new station in Strasbourg just for the TGV?

Wow how amazing, just to be able to get a train there, I know my friends have done it from Paris, just a few weeks ago.

We went on holiday to the Alsace area a few weeks ago, it was amazing, not like being in France, more Germanic, went over to Germany and into Switzerland, we were staying near Basel (bale) but in France.

I like this picture. I would love to travel to France sometime. I just need to brush up on some French.
