Notre Dame's roof

I like a lot these statues on top of the cathedral's roof which need a good zoom or binoculars to be seen.

Why they put the statues very high? You're right, I like it, too. Their pose are cool. And the black "tower" behind, my tired eyes see it's like dragons' neck :).

I was also fascinated by these statues when I saw them. I took some pictures, but my zoom is pretty anemic compared to yours, so this is the best look I've gotten of them. Great photo!
