That's a BIG flower pot which needs a BIG plant or BIG tree! Le centre Georges Pompidou est aussi tellement GRAND!

It's a big flower pot alright! But so are those clear tubes! What are they?

The tubes are automatic stairs going up to the higher floors.
If you visit the place I would recommend to take these stairs up to the Top where you have a great view.
OK, you and are thinking alike way too much. I have the same shot and was going to say something similar. I think the gold pot is hilarious. Only in Paris is all I can say.
