Eating at the Louvre

The food court located in the Carroussel du Louvre (Louvre museum shopping center) has been completely renewed and is now totally reopened with new restaurants and a new design for tables, chairs and lights. I might admit that it is really better now. They made the place really look better and the best improvement is the noise of all those people that they really achieved to turn down using new roof technics that seem to absorb the sound. It'a good place to rest during a museum visit when it's too cold to enjoy a lunch in the Tuileries garden.

Thanks for telling us about this food court area. I was in the Louvre shopping area (1999) but totally missed seeing this part. Looks like a good place to have a cafe and rest the feet!

I love the bright chairs. The noise level in restaurants is sometimes so bad that I never go back to them even if the food is very good.

A great and lovely place for lunch or a treat! I guess the prices are "renewed and reopened" too!

Good news about the lower noise level.

I didn't get there this time. New court looks way better. The other one smacked of a shopping mall in the U.S. Please I beg you DO NOT show me McDonald's when it goes in down there. What a disgrace. Is it a complete done deal or are they still haggling over it? From what I've read, there's hope they will stop it.

Hi, I am new to your blog and I love it. My daughter and I were in Paris in October and ate at the Louvre. One thing I found very frustrating was the coffee machine. The cashier gives you a token and you are supposed to know what to do with it. There are no instructions, not even in French. Since there are so many foreign visitors like me, I would think that it would be a big help to everyone. We waited until someone who knew how to work the machine was there and we watched. Then we helped the next person, You know, the old "pay it forward". :)
