just watched a movie called 'paris' on IFC -- a guys jumps from one of these and swims to the bank, then walks on home (his brother does the same thing) how common is this?!

@ Joy : It is strictly prohibited to swim in the Seine river. It's not only because there is pollution but mostly because it is very dangerous as so many boats are on the river and you may get hit and killed.
