Eyes on the river bank

Last week-end I did not only visit the Eiffel Tower but also had a trip on the Bateaux Mouches along the Seine. That's the kind of thing you only do when friends come to visit you in Paris and I enjoyed it a lot.
On the banks of the Isle Saint Louis we saw this very strange painting that was being done. I am not sure but I guess it is made for the next big event in Paris which will take place next saturday called "Nuit Blanche" that can be translated as White Night but also meaning a night with no sleep. I will talk more about this event when it happened.

It's almost a little frightening. Isle Saint Louis is one of my favorite places in Paris. I'm not sure why, I just love walking there.

I love it when people come to visit me and I get the chance to do all those "tourist-y" things you never do when you live in a city...

I'll be there on the first. Where is the best place to be for Nuit Blanche? I'm staying in the 6th but will go anywhere.

Oh we did the Bateaux Mouches 2007. EVeryone should do it once. It was fun but I'd rather stroll the banks of the Seine on foot! :) Nuit Blances, well I'm missing that one too. It seems like I just need to move to Paris so I don't miss a thing!!

I love both..bateaux Mouche and Ile Saint Louis...i went for a walk round, and ended up having a massage on a bridge, lots of people and a singer..plus the sun was shining !! What could I want.

Thank you Laurent for letting me use your photo of Medici Fountain..have done a link to you.

Santa Monica, California, tried to recreate Nuit Blanche last Summer at their pier. The organizers did not plan for the vast amount of people that came, so things like parking, food and bathroom opportunities were difficult to come by. Then there were art installations that could only be viewed by one person at a time. When you are dealing with 250,000 people, that's not so good. I wonder if they tried again this year.

Thanks for posting the photos. I returned from Paris yesterday (Oct 1st). I saw the car on the barge and rode the Bateau Mouche in Monday the 28th. I didn't miss you by much.
