A different subway station
This subway station is called " Louvre Rivoli " as it's located near the Louvre museum and on the Rivoli street. As you can see it has a special decoration that you will see nowhere else in the city's subway stations.

Very interesting, well-organized blog to which I want to go back there and back.
Best wishes

The other stations look like old public bathrooms in compare with this one.
Stepping off the metro and seeing that statue gets one in the mood for viewing and experiencing all the treasures of the Louvre!
When you travel a regular few lines and become familiar with the stations you take for granted the uniqueness of the different métro stops. This one always comes as an unexpected delight to the eyes! Merci, Laurent.

It is indeed a fine place this station....
...You must also visit "Acropolis" subway station in Athens Greece where a recreation of Acropolis fine sculptures are....
I am a painter. The Louvre to me is a Temple. How gracious to have a god here, welcoming one's arrival. I adore Paris. Because of moments like this. Thank you.
Oh my. I love this stop!! . This janvier I think it will be one I"ll see a lot. I hope I see YOU a lot as well Laurent. We must you know! :)

One used to be able to enter the Louvre from this station. Why did they stop that?
@ Starman
I have never known any direct access to the Louvre museum from that station. It should have been long time ago. There is a direct access from the next station called "Palais Royal-Musée du Louvre" from which you can enter directly in the Caroussel du Louvre where the inversed pyramid is.
