Typical Paris Haussman Building with balconies on the second and 5th floor. These apartment buildings are among the most expensive in the city.

Musée Bourdelle in and out

Two pictures today as I could not choose whether to show you the outside or the inside of the nice Musée Bourdelle located in Montparnasse quarter in the 15th arrondissement. It's a city owned museum (free entrance !) and honestly I'm no so found of that artists sculptures but the place itself really worths the visit. You can wander in what was Antoine Bourdelle's workplace and in the hidden garden (that you can see through the windows).

Sunday bridge : Pont Bir Hakeim

It's been a long time since I posted a picture of the Lady so on this Sunday bridge theme day I decided to show you the Bir Hakeim bridge crossing the river between 15th and 16th arrondissements. One of my favorite because of the subway riding on top and because of the lights.

Can you believe that this place is just a few hundred meters away from the Eiffel Tower ?

From Paris with Love and bigger

"From Paris with love" is a movie tittle that just opened this week with John Travolta in the leading role as you can see on the Cinema front on the right side, and that's also I thought I'm sending to you.
I took this picture in Montparnasse where we have a lot of movie theaters. Paris is by the way one of the Capital cities where you can find the more movie theater. Last year the movie industry in France had a very good year with a 7% increase of tickets sold representing more than 200 millions tickets for the year (we're 64 millions).

Montparnasse Tower

Named after the area's name "Montparnasse", this tower is the only skyscraper in Paris. From the top at the 56th floor you can enjoy a very nice view that can be added to the one you have from the Eiffel Tower. The tower has been criticized a lot when it was built and still is. Some people even try to have it demolished. Nowadays it is not permitted anymore to built skyscraper in Paris because a law. The politics try to change this law but it seems to be a hard battle.

Private lane

This private lane in the 15th arrondissement (you can see the Tour Montparnasse in the far background) is called  Square du Croizic. A very quite lane with splendid Haussman type buildings. Average price to buy an apartment here is 8500 euros per square meter. Definitely not for me !

Hot !

We have hot summer days in Paris with 31° yesterday and I nearly joined these kids having fun at the Parc André Citroen.

Parc André-Citroën

Looking at my blog labels I discovered that I had not posted any picture of the 15th arrondissement yet. So here is one of the Parc André-Citroën located near the Seine river. 

This park is rather new (90's) and was created on a location that hosted the former Citroën factory. Citroën is a French car brand famous for its DS and its 2CV ( Deux chevaux) cars.

The parc is a very nice place to rest and on hot days like we've had the past days the children love to play in the water that you can see in the background.
