Green colour for CDP theme day, summer break for me and maybe more for my blog ...

It's theme day today and also it's time for my summer holidays. I am taking a long break away from Paris and also away from the blog. This may also be a longer break than my holiday time as I may not continue blogging when I return. It's been 2 years and a half since I started this blog which I enjoyed a lot updating everyday and sharing with people from all over the world. Now I feel maybe a little less motivated and I'm thinking of ending this nice story. Maybe the holidays will make me change my mind ...

Quai Branly museum 5th anniversary

The Quai Branly museum features indigenous art, cultures and civilizations from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. It's located near the Eiffel tower along the Seine river and it's one of my favorite museum in Paris. The art presented in the museum is splendid and the building itself designed by Jean Nouvel is a must see.
This past weekend the museum celebrated its 5th year and its success as 7 millions people visited the place since it opened. See the official website : here

A window with a view

Today we're still inside the Cité de l'Architecture on the Trocadero. As I was telling you yesterday this museum is ideally located and here is one of the best view that you can get from the top floor of the building.

And suddenly between two buildings ...

... she appears ! Do I need any more comments ?

Sunset from the Jeu de Paume

Monday I was telling you about about the beautiful view we have when we stand in front of the Jeu de Paume at the end of the Tuileries garden. Here is what I saw when I got of the Kertész photo exhibition. The sun was going down and the Eiffel tower in the far away seemed nearly as big as the Obelisk on the Place de la Concorde. Who could resist to take the picture ?

Deuxième anniversaire !

Today "Daily Photo in Paris" is 2 years old ! I started on January 20th 2009 with an Eiffel tower picture and also celebrated the first anniversary with her so here she is again today.
Thank you all for reading my blog and sharing your thoughts and comments. This past year I had the great chance to meet two of my blog friend in person. I hope that this coming year I will meet more of you.I also hope that you still like my posts. Do you ?

I am posting late today as I was preparing tonight's diner and then touring the city up to the Tower and the "Village de Noël" on the Trocadero from where I took this picture this afternoon.

First snow on Paris

Yesterday we had our first snow. Not much but enough to paint the tower in white. 

Blog to blog

Looking at the very nice Genie's blog called "Paris and Beyond" I realized that this weekend I took nearly the same picture that the one she posted last Thursday but at night. So here's a variation of the place and a "blog to blog" talk like we sometimes also do with Virginia's Paris Through my Lens. 

Reflexion

It's always a good day to watch the Tower from the Trocadero, even when it's rainy and cold ... gives nice reflexion.

Through the window

Unfortunately this is not a view from my apartment but  as today is a grey and rainy day in Paris it's museum time. The picture is taken from the Architecture Museum located on the Trocadero in front of the Eiffel Tower. I hope the weather will get better tonight as we have the yearly "Nuit Blanche" event in Paris. I will post about it tomorrow.

Sunday bridge : Pont Bir Hakeim

It's been a long time since I posted a picture of the Lady so on this Sunday bridge theme day I decided to show you the Bir Hakeim bridge crossing the river between 15th and 16th arrondissements. One of my favorite because of the subway riding on top and because of the lights.

Theme day : red

This month's theme day gives me the opportunity to post a picture I have had in my archives for a few years. The Lady was lighted in red during 5 nights to honor the Chinese new year in 2004. Not a fresh daily photo then but I thought it would be nice to share it though.

By night

I recently told you that while I was waiting for the theater to open I had the chance to enjoy a nice view that was so Parisian with the Eiffel tower in the far background. Well, I took a picture that night and I thought I could share it even though it is not a great shot but I like it because I think it gives an idea of the atmosphere ... and Virginia will like the Rouge vespa !

Winter break

A building with a view for this last post before I leave for a well deserved winter break holidays. I am taking a flight tonight and will be back for more Paris pictures in a fortnight.

Premier Anniversaire !

Last year the Eiffel Tower celebrated her 120th anniversary but today it is my blog 1st anniversary. As I started one year ago with her I could not help but celebrating this first anniversary with her again. She is a Paris symbol for many foreigner but you know lots of Parisian like me really love it too.
