Theme day :under construction
The Court Law building, in French "Palais de justice" is not really under construction since the oldest part of this big palace are from the 10th century but it's under renovation. As you can see, our friend the Apple choose a nice spot to advertise ...

Velib's boat
"Velib" is Paris' free bike system (see here) and they have their own boat on the Seine river where they can repair bikes and also transfer them from one point to another along the river. Of course this is only an additional way of doing that as they mostly use trucks to go from one bike station to another inside the town. In that case their trucks are using electric power. See the Velib website for more information.

I love Paris in the springtime ...
Today I invite you to join me for a walk on the Seine river banks as we have the most perfect spring weather forecast. Sky is blue, temperatures are warm and the nature is splendid. This confirms that April is one of the best period to visit Paris and one of my favorite.

On the Pont de Sully
I was riding back home and when I crossed the river on the Pont de Sully I couldn't help but stopping to take a picture. I've seen that view hundreds of time but I am still in love with it ... and even it's freezing cold in Paris , the sun is shining and the sky is great. What more ?

Theme day : Your favourite part of town
It is difficult to choose a part of Paris that would be my "favourite". It all depends of what month, day of the week, hour of the day, mood ... Anyway if I have to pick up one it is the Ponts de Arts, a pedestrian bridge that crosses the Seine river between the Louvre museum and the "Institut de France". I love standing on this bridge offering incredible views everywhere you look.

Along the Seine
The Seine river level is rather high these days as you can see on this shot I took this afternoon. Not really what we can call floods but it's a nice view. As you can see we've had a perfect blue sky all day which is great for wandering around and take pictures. You may get some more of today's this week ...

Bad weather ...
... but great sky ! We have some very rare short moments of blue sky these days and all the rest is grey and wet wet wet ... I hate November ! As some of you seemed to like yesterday's French expression, here is a new one related to the picture " c'est un temps de novembre " meaning " it's november weather". This is used anytime of year to complain when the weather is rainy and grey which is typical of November here but unfortunately also happens all year round.

This bookshop on the river bank near the Pont Neuf (Paris'oldest bridge though the name means "New bridge") is called "Bouquiniste". You can find all sorts of books their. See one of my old post about the Bouquinistes (click here).

Dancing in Paris
During the summer, every night on the Quai Saint Bernard arenas, people gather and dance. If you want to have the sound I posted a little video on you tube (click here).

Bike in the city
If you've been in Paris during the past 2 years you've probably noticed that the city has now a lot of bikes on the streets. Not only the Velib, our free bike system, but also private bikes that Parisian now use really more than ever before. This weekend I was in London and I was happy to see that they also started last july with a free bike system like in Paris. The good thing about Velib is that you don't have to care about parking your bike. I think that the owner of the bike of today's photo found a quite nice parking place (not sure it's allowed by the way ...)

Sunday bridge : Pont Bir Hakeim
It's been a long time since I posted a picture of the Lady so on this Sunday bridge theme day I decided to show you the Bir Hakeim bridge crossing the river between 15th and 16th arrondissements. One of my favorite because of the subway riding on top and because of the lights.

Free relaxing massage on the Seine river bank
Let's continue to have good time on the river bank with these people give a 10 minutes free relaxing massage. They are here every afternoon if weather is fine and I did try it for the first time last Sunday ! If you're in Paris you should absolutely go there. They're really good and on top of it where sitting on these little chairs you are facing ... Notre Dame Cathedral ! I also like this picture because I find the atmosphere of that warm Sunday afternoon on the banks.
