A window with a view
Today we're still inside the Cité de l'Architecture on the Trocadero. As I was telling you yesterday this museum is ideally located and here is one of the best view that you can get from the top floor of the building.

Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine
In addition to the fact that this museum is ideally located on the Trocadero right in front of the Eiffel Tower, it is also a great place to visit where you can see a lot of French architecture. A must see in Paris.

I am posting late today as I was preparing tonight's diner and then touring the city up to the Tower and the "Village de Noël" on the Trocadero from where I took this picture this afternoon.

Reflexion
It's always a good day to watch the Tower from the Trocadero, even when it's rainy and cold ... gives nice reflexion.

Through the window
Unfortunately this is not a view from my apartment but as today is a grey and rainy day in Paris it's museum time. The picture is taken from the Architecture Museum located on the Trocadero in front of the Eiffel Tower. I hope the weather will get better tonight as we have the yearly "Nuit Blanche" event in Paris. I will post about it tomorrow.

Statue of Liberty in Paris
Yes we also have a Statue of Liberty in Paris. I already posted a picture of it and here is a new one seen from the back with that grey sky we have these days.

La fée électricité by Raoul Dufy
La fée électricité by Raoul Dufy is a huge painting (624 square meter) that you can see at the Paris Museum of Modern Art in the Palais de Tokyo (free entrance). The paintor made this incredible painting for the International Exhibition of Arts and Technology of 1937 representing Electricity through the centuries. If you enlarge the picture (click on it) you can see a person behind the sign "Marcel" that gives an idea of the size of the painting.
It has been a long time since I haven't visited this museum since I am not found of the Palais de Tokyo which is still in a poor condition but I had friends from Orleans at home and it is still worth seen it when you visit Paris. If you come by métro you should stop at Iena station and walk down to the museum. That is where you've got this great view on the Eiffel Tower that Virginia and I both posted.

Theme day : changes
First I wish you all a " Bonne Année " ("Happy New Year") full of love , happiness and most of all great health.
Here is my view of today's theme day. It is what the Eiffel Tower looked like 4 times a night during the end of year 2009. There was a light show every night to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Lady just after the traditionnal 5 minutes sparkling show. Theses changing looks of the Tower were spectacular. I also tried to capture the show on a litlle movie that I put on You Tube if you want to have a look at it live.

Flags
French are not flag people. We quite never put flag in our homes like you can see in some countries (except for special events like Soccer world cup) and the only places where you can find French Flag are public buildings like this beautiful Hotel Particulier located on the Place de l'Etoile (you can see the reflexion of the Arc de Triomphe in the windows).

Péché mignon
One thing I did not tell about my little trip on the Champs Elysees for the Armistice day is that I could not help but stop at Ladurée and have some of these incredible macarons ... and by the way I wish you all good luck for this Friday 13th !

Marquise
In French the word "marquise" has two meanings. The most common use is for a French noblewoman ranking above a countess and below a duchess, and who is usually the wife of a marquis.
The second meaning is for a glass canopy standing above a door like this gorgeous marquise on a 16th arrondissement chic building.
