The Stravinky Fountain near Beaubourg (seen in the background) gives us some colors in the grey Paris. Yes, still raining !

Theme day : waiting

Waiting to enter the Beaubourg museum (Modern Art) where an excelent exhibition of Pierre Soulages (French paintor) takes place. As you can see I was lucky enough to be inside since rain was starting. People outside were watching street shows while waiting.

A terrasse with roses

First I thank you Harriet, Karen, Vogon Poet, Ciel, Nadège, Jill and White Oleander for your birthday wishes. I really appreciate ! Now I am back from London where I had a great time and birthday too. 

Today I post a photo of the terrasse bar on the 6th floor of the Pompidou Center which I like for the roses and for the Eiffel tower reflection.

Alexander Calder at Beaubourg

I went to see the Alexander Calder exhibition yesterday at Beaubourg (Georges Pompidou Center Museum). An absolute not to miss beautifull exibition if you're in Paris.

The museum also shows a Kandinsky exhibition which is great too. Sun is gone and has been replaced by rain so it's a good time for cultural activities!

Centre George Pompidou

The Centre national d'art et de culture Georges Pompidou was the brainchild of President Georges Pompidou (1969-1974) who wanted to create an original cultural institution in the heart of Paris completely focused on modern and contemporary creation, where the visual arts would rub shoulders with theatre, music, cinema, literature and the spoken word. Housed in the centre of Paris in a building designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, whose architecture symbolises the spirit of the 20th century, the Centre Pompidou first opened its doors to the public in 1977. After renovation work from 1997 to December 1999, it opened to the public again on 1 January 2000, with expanded museum space and enhanced reception areas. Since then it has once again become one of the most visited attractions in France. Some 6 million people pass through the Centre Pompidou's doors each year, a total of over 190 million visitors in its 30 years of existence.

This wall is located near the "Centre Georges Pompidou" museum also called by Parisian "Beaubourg".

I always thought it gives happiness when passing by.
