Lundi de Pâques

The next Monday after Easter is called "Lundi de Pâques" in French ("Easter Monday ... which I put yesterday by error and so now Virginia you've got the answer !). It is a holiday in France so most of the people just got a 3 days weekend here. As we still have that incredible summer weather, this is the view you will have along cafés in the city.

We keep on with "café" theme today and go outside as the weather in Paris is still like summer. These guys seem to have a vibrant talk while the lady in the far left background is thrilled by her reading ... isn't that also Paris ?

November is certainly the worse month in Paris as far as weather is concerned. Cold, grey and wet is usually what we get and it does not bring people on the Café outdoor tables ...

Red Café Marcel

Like my blog friend Virginia (see her great Paris Through my Lens blog) I like rouge (red) so I could not help but  shooting this Café in the 17th arrondissement where this nice couple was hesitating to enter. Look at the girl, doesn't she perfectly suit with the Café's colors ?

Today is CDP theme day. "Reflexions" is the theme so here is a mixed street and inside view of the famous chic Parisian "Café de la Paix" near the Opéra.
Temperatures are getting higher each day in Paris. 34 degrees today and a blue sky ... I love it !

Not a football fan but ...

I must admit than even though I usually never watch football, the World Cup is something special. You can find hundreds of cafés like this one where people gather and watch TV together in a friendly atmosphere. Tonight will be France second match in South Africa and since our team is rather in a bad situation lately, this match is expected to be good for them.
Apart from all these little places, Paris is also offering 2 giant screens for football fans. One is in the Charlety stadium located in the 13th arrondissement (south) and the other one is on the Trocadero Plaza in front of the Eiffel tower. I'll try to get a picture to show it to you.
By the way what we call Football in Europe, and I guess all over the world except in the US, is what my American friends call soccer.

Welcome to Virginia

Great Paris blogger Virginia (Paris Through my Lens blog) arrived in Paris and I know she's got that thing with the "Red Paris" so it's for for Virginia !
For all others, as you can see if you look at how people are dressed in this typical Café, even though summer is supposed to be nearly here we are not having the weather we should (12° this morning !).

"Le bar à toutou est ouvert" means " doggy's café is open" ... as you can see with the water provided under this sign seen on a street in Montmartre.
