Green balconies

Parisians like to put plants and flowers on their balconies. And this building is so nice even without the green.

Free massage

Last year I tested these free street massage on the Seine River bank (see old post) and I was happy to see that they still do it. They give a 15 minutes free back massage really relaxing and in a friendly atmosphere.

Yesterday I told you about the giant screen in front of the City Hall where you can watch the tennis game of the Roland Garros tournament, here it is and with a view on Notre Dame ... better than watching it at home, isn't it ?

Bouger c'est facile !

We find more and more of these signs in Paris. The little green text says "Bouger c'est facile" means "Move it's easy" and encourages people to walk. Then the sign shows different locations and how long it will take you to walk there. A nice wealthy idea I think.

At the Butcher's

We find very little old butcher shop like this one located on the Saint Louis Isle. It's a little like been back in the past. The lady even has a chair to rest while the butcher is preparing her meat. Far way from Facebook and Twitter ...

Eating horses ?

Yes, French (very few nowadays fortunately) eat horses ! This clothes shop is a former horse butcher and they kept the old sign saying " We buy horses". I guess this only thing Virginia will like is the red !

Jardin de l'Hôtel Denon

This tiny garden is a public garden located in Le Marais area called "The Denon mansion garden" (Hôtel in French is also used for mansion). The mansion is the splendid building you see in the background.

On the Pont de Sully

I was riding back home and when I crossed the river on the Pont de Sully I couldn't help but stopping to take a picture. I've seen that view hundreds of time but I am still in love with it ... and even it's freezing cold in Paris , the sun is shining and the sky is great. What more ?

Theme day : Fountains

For the month theme I present to you the Place des Voges fountain at dawn. This square is absolutely a must see in Paris. Full of historical houses and a real "bonheur pour les yeux" as we say in French.

Musée Carnavalet

It has been such a long time since my last visit at the Carnavalet Museum that I barely remembered its beautiful and big collection. This museum presents Paris history and is certainly a must see if you like our city. I must admit that it surly needs some renovation especially with the lightnings but it's a free entrance museum so let's be indulgent ! And it's also located in 2 absolutely gorgeous Mansions that worth visit even just for the buildings themselves.
