Grafitis street

Located in the 20th arrondissement near metro station "Belleville", this is the "rue Denoyez" where a lot of old building are in a process of being renovated. Meanwhile, "artists" are expressing themselves.
A little funny thing about this street is that down the street, the city of Paris just opened a brand new swimming pool and if you take the street name in French "rue Dénoyez" can also be understood as "rue des noyés" which means "street of the drowned persons". Nice for a swimming pool street isnt'it ?

I won't rant because you've told us it will be renovated. Hopefully the villains will be able to refrain from defacing those!

I'll pass on the swimming pool! HA

The colors are bright and bold, but I can see right through them in to old Belleville. I can imagine a young Edith Piaf strolling down the street.

Wow! How colorful, I do like graffiti, it has such a free spirit about it... And how droll, the name for the swimming pool road!

This is actually one of my favorite streets in Paris (I used to live right around the corner). It's absolutely beautiful to see the images changing on a daily basis, and some of them are really impressive. I took photos and wrote about it here: http://hipparis.com/2010/02/06/wandering-in-belleville-living-art-on-rue-denoyez/

I don't like graffiti. I wish people would stop destroying the look of such lovely buildings. The steet name IS funny for a street with a pool!
