Art on the balcony

This statue is a reproduction of the dying slave by Michelangelo that you can find in the Louvre Museum. In fact there are 12 statues on top of this building designed by Spanish architect Manuel Núñez Yanowsky and located on the corner of Rue de Rambouillet and Avenue Daumesnil in the 12th arrondissement. The building is a Police office and I remember posting a picture of it in October 2009. This time I liked the contrast with the next building which has a much classical design. Always should look up when walking in Paris !

I saw this building last summer from the Promenade Plantée. I love those statues.

I agree, Laurent... You will miss some amazing sights unless you "look up" in Paris... like this one.

Mary has tried to get me there for photographs numerous times. I'm regretting that I've not seen it in person. This one looks as if he's outgrown his surroundings! :)

I've learned that you have to look up wherever you are...there is so much to see.

One of the things I love about Paris is the magnificent statues all over the city!
