Rue Mouffetard

The rue Mouffetard in the 5th arrondissement is very very well know of tourists as it's a nice "typical" Parisian street and area... honestly more for tourist than Parisians but I like to go there sometimes ... where I have visitors ! Lots of restaurants and extraordinary expensive grocery stores but very nice looking.

Surely a part of the very essence of Paris for me. Please have a wonderful Friday.

This photo captures the ambiance of Le Mouff beautifully! because the Rue is very narrow and cobblestoned it has an old world feel to it, and your pic shows this aspect.. Yah I agree with the expensive bit! I remember a little church-yard down the bottom where people were sitting peacefully eating lunch. nice memories!
Have a lovely week-end

Have you tried the restaurant L'Isola? As I recall, the prices there are very reasonable. Virginia recommended the veal citron to me. It and the pasta that came with it were good enough for repeat visits.

OH Laurent,
This was home to us last summer as we lived off Claude Benard . We shopped everyday for wine and dinner on our way home from the Metro. Sundays with the singing and dancing is another treat.

Ta photo est superbe, j'aime cette lumière et je sens les pavés sous mes pieds. Merci.

We have fantastic memories of a small bistro in the Mouffetard ... An unforgettable meal for two!

And nothing more than this Parisian street, and the presence of the generation of 1920, Hemingway among them ...

Interesting you should mention the expensive shops. I noticed that also when I walked down from l'Arenes de Lutéce.
