Yes, French (very few nowadays fortunately) eat horses ! This clothes shop is a former horse butcher and they kept the old sign saying " We buy horses". I guess this only thing Virginia will like is the red !

Any idea how the speckled appearance was achieved? It almost looks like a mosaic, but I don't think that that is the case.
I much prefer to watch horses racing down the track rather than think of what you have mentioned.
Love this rouge but feel a more than a bit squeemish at the thought of people eating horse meat. I believe that the French term is "l'hippophagie."
I like the idea that they kept the business sign of the former shop. Too much is covered up and homogenized in every city it seems.
